who we are

Mothership Energy Group (MEG) is a boutique group of female-owned energy solutions companies providing advisory, consulting and analytical services for energy management, with a focus on low-carbon technology solutions such as solar, wind and battery storage. Our team of retail and renewable industry veterans have distinguished experience working on strategies, structuring and execution of innovative new renewable market solutions across the country, focusing on the integration of renewable energy hedges with traditional thermal market supply resources.

Our company was founded by retail energy specialists and renewable technology veterans with a combined 40+ years experience in the energy industry. Our team has distinguished experience working on strategies, structuring and execution of innovative new market solutions across the country and world.

 
 

 

Maura Yates, CEO

Maura has worked in the power industry for twelve years, holding various positions at companies such as SunEdison, Standard Renewable Energy, Arizona Public Service (also known as “APS”).  Before starting MEG, Ms. Yates was most recently VP of Solar and Sustainable Solutions for MP2 Energy, a retail electricity provider (REP) based in The Woodlands, TX.  There, Ms. Yates started the REP’s solar division including designing and implementing the SolarCity net-metering partnership, contacting and structuring Ft. Hood’s long-term integrated renewable and commodity supply hedge, short-term solar power hedge to Rice University, and successful passage of 2013 Texas State legislation to clarify property tax calculation for solar projects in Texas.  SmartGrid Today named Maura one of the “Top 50 Pioneers of 2015” for her innovative deregulated residential net-metering rate design.

 

 

Calin Brammer, Business Development

Calin has worked in the energy industry for eight years, holding various positions and consulting engagements at companies such as SunPower, MP2 Energy and National Grid. Prior to joining MEG, Calin was an Associate on the Utility Sales and Development team at SunPower, a vertically integrated solar developer. There, Calin worked to develop greenfield projects (including permitting, real estate & transmission) across California and Nevada as well as power market solar PPAs to utilities, CCAs and C&I customers. Before joining SunPower, Mr. Brammer worked as a Sr. Analyst in the Solar and Sustainable Solutions group at MP2 Energy, a retail electricity provider (REP) based in The Woodlands, TX. There he structured distributed solar deals for retail clients and provided the analytics behind MP2’s residential net metering program.  Calin holds a BBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School and a M.S. in Sustainability Management from Columbia University.

 

Allison Dorr, Business Development

Allison Dorr has worked in the energy industry for six years, securing and negotiating integrated credit and wholesale supply agreements with retail energy providers (REPs).  Her work spans throughout deregulated energy markets in the United States for a Japanese subsidiary, Pacific Summit Energy, based in The Woodlands, TX. Allison has largely focused on long-term client management and the renegotiation of contracts to enable the development and success of her clients. Allison worked side by side with her clients in selecting third-party vendors for scheduling, billing and load forecasting, and acknowledges that proper in-house management or the right vendor is critical to a REPs overall profitability and customer growth. In Allison's latest position at Pac Summit as Power Originator she scheduled ERCOT power and structured long term back to back renewable PPA’s and load following transactions.
